Mount Lhotse Expedition Description:

Mountain hikers get excited about this amazing accent to Mt. Lhotse. The fourth largest peak at a height of 27,940 feet. Mt. Lhotse is near and within sight of Chomolungma the ever amazing Everest. Come join an excellent team at LHOTSE Expedition for a climb to remember. You will have a 1:1 ratio of Sherpa to climber for your convenience and adventure. Our team also consist of professional climbers and westerners to help you along the way. We climb as a team and enjoy the small group mentality making friends along the way.

We will climb to the Lhotse Face via the most well-organized route. You will get to see the Khumbu Icefall and the Western Cwm. We will then climb the Everest South Route and stop at the base. At base Lhotse, we will establish a high camp.

Crossing fingers for warm weather the final ascent to the summit will leave you in awe and inspired. Everyone uses rope for the safety of every climber. Respect and safety is paramount for us. You will encounter snow, ice, and rock through this moderately steep climb to the summit. You will be challenged on this last leg of the journey, but as you know climbing this is all part of the fun. You will reach a steep and then it is only 50 meters to the top. The climb is both exhilarating and possible.

The Lhotse Expedition will being gathering to do final prep in Kathmandu. the next several days we all get time to rest and discover Kathmandu. It is necessary to keep up strength and balance for the coming climb. Next will be our flight to Lukla to then prepare and begin our 9-day hike to base camp.

Acclimatization is key for a successful climb. Camps of rest and relaxation are mapped out along the way. We all need good energy starting at the 17,000 feet base camp. Our next climb is to camp 1 at 19,000 feet. We will sleep at camp 1 but then return to base camp. This is necessary for safety and comfort. We then embark for our 21,000 feet climb to camp 2. Camp 2 is a welcome place as this becomes our next base camp. We get a nice tent full of delicious food prepared by excellent cooks. Rest and relaxation is the utmost importance here. We will rest at camp 2 for several days for full preparation to ascend to 24,000 feet to camp 3. Camp 3 is the last stop before the final summit climb.

PROJECTED ITINERARY

Day 1: Kathmandu Tribuvan International Airport Arrival. You arrive in a group at the hotel in Thamel.

Day 2: Relax and visit in Kathmandu. Check list of preparations and supplies.

Day 3: Group gathering for important details/ Check List of Gear Group Dinner and Festivities

Day 4: Board a Flight to Lukla/ Hike to Phakding elevation 8,700 feet.

Day 5: A day to enjoy the Sherpa Capital of Namche Bazaar. Have fun meeting locals and seeing city sights.

Day 6: Important day to acclimatize in Namche. There is a choice of a museum visit or outdoor hiking of beautiful views.

Day 7: Day 7 destination is Deboche. On the way, we get to hike the Dodhi Kosi Rive. A beautiful path of Rhododendrons awaits us on our journey as we meander through to the Tengboche Monastery.

Day 8: Dingboche sits at 14,000 feet. We will hike here on Day 8 and awe at the amazing Ama Dablam.

Day 9: Today is a day of rest. Making sure we are acclimated is today’s priority.

Day 10: Rested we make our way to Lobuche. A small village at 16,000 feet. We will walk the Mani Stones during our hike.

Day 11: As long as the weather holds we will work our way to Kala Pattar. Here we will see the amazing Everest. Our sleeping quarters will be in Gorak Shep. You are now at 17,000 feet.

Day 12: Today is the hike to the Everest Base Camp which sits at 17,000 feet.

Day 13-49: The best time for this hike is Mid to late May. This is the start of the summit climb. It can only be done in a window of proper weather for safety and security.

Day 50-56: Amazed and Inspired we travel back to Kathmandu. There is enough time beforehand for rest and relaxation.

Day 57-58: The team celebrated in Kathmandu recapping our amazing journey. You can buy gifts and enjoy the town.
