Amadablam Climbing Expedition, Nepal

One of the best expeditions that you can take is one to Amadablam. Here you will have an experience unlike anything else that you have experienced. If you are a climber, then you will be attracted to the fact that the Amadablam climbing expedition offers some of the most challenging climbing around. In addition to some amazing Amadablam climbing experience, you will also have the added bonus of breathtaking views that will be second to none. The shape of this peak will be a climbers dream come true as it will challenge them and yet not be completely impossible. For those that make it to the summit, the reward is amazing views of Mt. Everest as well as the surrounding area. This will be a challenge for an expert climber and will be something that you will talk about for years down the road with your friends.

If you are worried about if Ama Dablam expedition is safe, rest assured that we take what is considered to be one of the safest routes for you to climb as it will be free of many of the dangers that other routes may pose. You will still need to have decent rock and ice climbing skills in order to complete this expedition and as with all of our treks, your Amadablam climbing experience will be one of the safest around as we take care to ensure that our climbers are always being kept safe and comfortable. Now that you have been given some basic information about the expedition, let’s talk about your day to day itinerary to give you a feel of what you can come to expect from your climb.

Detailed Amadablam Climbing Itinerary

Day 1: You arrive in Kathmandu (1,350m/4,428ft)
Once you arrive, you will be greeted at the airport in Katmandu and taken to your hotel room. this will give you a chance to recover from your flight and for you to get acclimated to the surrounding area before we begin your expedition. in the evening, there will be a dinner hosted to let you and the others that will join you get to know one another. This will be the end of your first day as the next one will as well be a lot more laid back as you prepare for your climb.

Day 2: Seeing the sights in Katmandu as well as Preparing for your Trip
This leg of the trip will give you a chance to see some of the famous sites that Katmandu has to offer before you set out on your Amadablam expedition the next day. One of the sites that you will visit is the “Monkey Temple” that is known all around the world. this along with several other sites in Katmandu will be the large part of your second day. the rest of the day will be spent after you meet with your climbing leader who will inspect and make sure your gear is safe for the upcoming climb. This will be the last slow day that you will have a slow day as the real part of your expedition will begin.

Day 3: Flying to Lukla (2,800m/9,184ft) then a trek to Phakding (2,652m/8,700ft): 40 min flight, 3-4 hours trek
You will begin your day with a breakfast and you will drive to the airport for your flight out to Lukla. This will be a very breathtaking view as you make your way to Lukla with the mountains that are topped with snow. Upon landing you will meet up with the rest of the staff that will assist you in your climbing expedition. You will have a short hike where you will spend overnight in Phakding.

Day 4: Phakding to Namche Bazaar (3,440m/11,283ft): 5-6 hours
Once breakfast is over you will begin trekking through some of the most beautiful pine forests in the area. This part of the trek will also take you along the Dudh Koshi River. After an hour or so you will begin to see Mt. Thamserku. Your journey will continue through a series of pine and fir forests. after this you will also go over a series of suspension bridges till you reach Namche Bazaar, here you will stay overnight resting up for the next days trip.

Day 5: Namche Bazaar (3,440 m/11,283 ft): Day of acclimatization to the region
This is a day that is set aside for you to continue getting used to the surrounding area, experts will advise that you take this day and continue to move around as opposed to remaining idle as this can actually go against you and your efforts. You have a couple of options that are open to you including a stroll around a number of the villages in the area. Another option is that of going to the Everest View Hotel where you will get a breathtaking view of the surrounding area including that of Everest.

Day 6: Namche Bazaar to Debuche
This day will have you going a little further along the route next to Everest. you will go along a number of the beautiful surrounding area that makes this region so popular. You will descend into Debuche where you will rest for the night before beginning the next leg of your expedition.

Day 7: Debuche to Pheriche (4,300m/14,107ft): 5-6 hours
After a nice breakfast, you will hike to Panboche as you make your way to Pheriche. The area is known for having amazing views and allows you to have an amazing view of Everest just to the north. as you progress towards Pheriche where you will enjoy a stay in another beautiful village. this will lead to you having another day for you to get used to the change in environment.

Day 8: Acclimatization
This is another time for you to take and get used to the change in altitude that you are going through. This is a highly recommended trip as it will help to prevent you from getting altitude sickness that can affect those that experience a change in altitude suddenly.

Day 9: Pheriche to Ama Dablam Base Camp (4570m/15000ft): 5-6 hours
This will be just another day in your life as the trek will not be that complicated and will not be that strenuous for you.

Day 10: Acclimatization and Pre-climb training at Ama Dablam Base Camp
Getting used to the air will be crucial in helping you to be ready for your climbing. This will entail you seeing the area and eventually getting the training that you need to accomplish your climb in a safe and secure manner. This will take a great day in your expedition experience and will lead to you making the biggest climb of your life.

Day 11-25: Ascending and Descending of Ama Dablam (6856m/22488ft)
This will be the hardest part of the expedition. You will have your climbing skills put to the test and this is where you will have to be sure that you are in good enough shape to accomplish this. many people will not be able to make this part of the trip and as such will have to either end their expedition early or will have to make other arrangements. If you are able to make it to the summit you will have a great experience and be rewarded with a second to none view.

Day 26-27: Trek to Lukla
On your way back to Lukla you will have a load of memories that you can reflect on as you will have to be aware of the surrounding area this will not be nearly as hard as the previous legs that you have gone on the reason for this is due to the trek being not nearly as tough as the ones in the past.

Day 28: Fly back to Kathmandu
You can experience the remarkable flight back to Katmandu. the landscape you see will be very impressive and as a result, will give you a chance to take in the area from a unique perspective. the trip back will be a remarkable one for you to enjoy.

Day 29: Leisure day in Kathmandu
This will be an excellent day for you to spend seeing the sights of Katmandu as well as shopping in the area. There will be a lot for you to enjoy your last few hours in Katmandu. You will sleep in Katmandu and rest from your expedition.

Day 30: Final Departure
This is the day that you will be leaving for home. The only thing left to do is exchange information with those that have been on this trip with you. You will leave Katmandu and will have a large number of memories that you will be able to take home with you. This will be a trek that will be well worth the time and money you will invest in this expedition.
